Burlington Lifestyle

Burlington is Vermont’s largest city hosting 45,000 year-round residents and a daytime metro population of over 100,000 people.  It is frequently rated as one of America’s most livable cities.  The downtown area is centered around the Church Street Marketplace, an outdoor marketplace with shopping, restaurants, festivals, and entertainers.  One block from Church Street is City Hall Park where a weekly outdoor farmers’ market takes place offering live music, local produce, and arts and crafts.  The City sits along Lake Champlain where Waterfront Park hosts outdoor sports, concerts, and festivals.  The waterfront bike path extends the length of the city offering views of the lake and linking city parks.  Public City parks offer beach access, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, and an ice rink. There is never a shortage of fun winter activities in Burlington with popular ski resorts, cross-country trails and ice climbing all a short drive from the city.

Urban Life

The Burlington Police Department sits beside Burlington’s Battery Park, overlooking beautiful Lake Champlain and the bike path.  Also serving the City of Burlington, is the Burlington School District, a district earning Burlington the title of #1 Place to Raise Kids by Today .  Burlington has become a diverse community with 20 languages and 52 dialects spoken in its school system alone.

College City

The Hill Section of Burlington hosts the University of Vermont and Champlain College.  Nationally recognized University of Vermont Medical Center, one of the few Level 1 Trauma centers in New England, at our doorstep also sits in the hills of Burlington and serves the health needs of the community.

Technology Hub

Burlington has also become a technology incubator with a commitment to the environment.  The eco-minded city offers 100% renewable energy for its residents, and is home to the ECHO, Leahy Center research center for Lake Champlain. With such great accolades its no wonder that Burlington continues to be considered one of the country’s greatest cities.
