Salary
- 
Starting salary ranges from $80,361 - $91,239* annually, *based on previous law enforcement experience. 
- 
Retention bonuses at 5,10, 15 and 20 years of service. 

Paid Time Off
- 
0-5 years: 2 weeks of paid vacation + floating holidays, personal time and sick leave. 
- 
6-10 years: 3 weeks of paid vacation + floating holidays, personal time and sick leave. 
- 
11-15 years: 4 weeks of paid vacation + floating holidays, personal time and sick leave. 
- 
16+ years: 5 weeks of vacation + floating holidays, personal time and sick leave. 

Schedule
- 
10 hour days – 4 days on and 3 days off, with weekends off every other month. 
- 
Overtime can be received in pay or vacation accrual. 
- 
Shift differential for evening, midnight and weekend shifts. 

Retirement
- 
Retirement at 20 years of service at 50 % of your average 5 highest years of base salary (minimum age of 50), increases 5% each year. 
- 
Retirement at 25 years of service at 75% of your average 5 highest years of base salary (minimum age of 50). 
- 
Pensionable overtime rate of 10%. 
- 
Lateral candidate retirement buy-in options for up to eight years of service. 

Education Incentives
- 
Annual bonus for an Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree.

After probation, BPD pays 50% tuition reimbursement (up to a max of 3 courses per fiscal year).
